Join us as our Transport Shift Manager, based in our Sherburn-in-Elmet depot for our customer Wickes. Youll utilise driver resources, manage performance and will be a key asset to our operation running efficiently, whilst focusing on compliance, H&S and collaboration.
This is a full time, permanent position working Sunday to Thursday (10:00 to 18:00, although flexibility is required).
Pay, benefits and more:
Were looking to offer a salary of up to£36,312 per annum (dependent on level of experience), and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme, life assurance and access to our benefits platform, including retail discounts.
What youll do on a typical day:
* Ensure Health & Safety and Safe Systems of Work are followed, including timely and accurate reporting of accidents, incidents and near misses
* Build strong teamwork, morale and trusted relationships across drivers, transport colleagues and internal stakeholders
* Lead, motivate and manage full-time and agency drivers and support staff to meet site and customer objectives and deadlines
* Oversee weekly planning, driver telematics performance, and on-time departures to maintain operational efficiency
* Manage legal compliance, audits, and people-related matters such as absence and disciplinaries in line with company procedures
What you need to succeed at GXO:
* Proven supervisory experience within a transport environment, with strong understanding of legal requirements, operational processes and customer needs
* Confident in priotising and adapting to an ever-evolving operation
* Effective time-planner with the ability to balance workloads, meet deadlines and demonstrate strong commercial awareness
* Able to build strong, professional relationships with internal and external customers by demonstrating integrity, credibility and clear operational knowledge
