MECHANICAL ENGINEER – BIOGAS & BIOMETHANE

Due to the ongoing success of this initiative, we are currently looking for highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineers to join our dedicated team in harnessing the power of organic waste to produce clean energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Position Overview: As a Mechanical Engineer in our Energy Conversion team, you will apply your comprehensive biogas and biomethane experience to the development of associated systems, process technologies and project opportunities. Your deep understanding of mechanical systems will enable you to assess project feasibility, develop designs and deliver solutions at the forefront of the biogas and biomethane revolution.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement innovative mechanical solutions for energy conversion systems, including thermal power plants, renewable energy facilities, and waste-to-energy projects.
2. Perform detailed engineering analysis, feasibility studies, and simulations to optimize energy conversion processes for maximum efficiency and environmental sustainability.
3. Collaborate with project teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components within larger energy systems, considering factors such as thermal dynamics, fluid mechanics, and material selection.
4. Lead and contribute to the design, modelling, and testing of mechanical components such as turbines, heat exchangers, boilers, and related equipment.
5. Participate in site visits and inspections to assess equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical recommendations for operational enhancements.
6. Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to energy conversion and mechanical engineering.
7. Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through presentations, reports, and documentation.
Qualifications:
8. Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
9. Proven experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on energy conversion systems, preferably within the power generation or renewable energy sectors.
10. Strong proficiency in engineering software such as SolidWorks, ANSYS, and MATLAB for design, analysis, and simulation purposes.
11. Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing energy conversion processes.
12. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to approach challenges with creativity and innovation.
13. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
14. Professional registration (CEng or equivalent) is a plus.
