Estimator (Construction) – Luton
Newstaff Employment is hiring an experienced Estimator in Luton to prepare accurate cost plans across a range of construction projects; in this role, you will analyse project data, control budgets and influence commercial decisions from tender stage through to completion.
Location: Luton
Salary: £60, – £80, per annum (negotiable depending on experience)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for a variety of construction projects
2. Review drawings, specifications and tender documents carefully; therefore, you capture all cost elements
3. Attend pre-tender and project meetings so you fully understand scope and requirements
4. Work closely with project managers to identify risks, value engineering opportunities and scope changes
5. Analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure competitiveness and accuracy
6. Build and maintain structured cost databases for future tenders
7. Use estimating software to produce clear reports and commercial breakdowns for stakeholders
8. Ensure all estimates comply with relevant industry regulations and standards
Essential Skills & Experience
9. Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction sector
10. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and pricing structures
11. Ability to interpret technical drawings
12. Commercial awareness with strong analytical skills
13. Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office
14. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
