Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Marine Engineer to lead and manage engineering projects related to the design, operation, maintenance, and repair of marine engines, gearboxes and drives and integration into vessels and systems. This role involves technical leadership, project management, and hands-on engineering expertise in Yacht, CTV, Ferry and Workboat propulsions systems, and auxiliary equipment.
The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of marine engines, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including naval architects, shipyard personnel, and operators in the leisure, commercial and defence sectors.
The role is likely to be 50% office based and 50% onsite working mainly across our South coast locations although occasional UK wide/over sea's travel will be required.
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee installation, diagnostics, testing, and maintenance of marine systems
· Manage and lead technical aspects of new builds, retrofits, and major overhauls
· Review engineering drawings, technical documents and performance reports
· Carry out diagnostics, failure investigations and recommend improvements
· Ensure compliance with international and company engineering standards
· Support project budgets, schedules, and resource planning
· Mentor junior engineers and apprentices
· Assist with supplier selection and technical reviews
· Conduct inspections, audits, and sea trials
· Offer technical advice and support to our dealer network

The Person
· Qualified in Marine, Mechanical or related Engineering discipline
· Five plus years' marine engineering experience across leisure and commercial vessels
· Skilled in diesel engine diagnostics and system maintenance
· Strong understanding of propulsion, electrical and auxiliary systems
· Comfortable working in shipyard environments and using specialist tools
· Experience with Microsoft Office and general IT systems
· Able to write and interpret technical reports
· Flexible to travel when needed
