Job Description
Introduction
An experienced veterinary surgeon is sought to join a well-established small-animal practice in Cheltenham, located in a thriving area with great facilities. The position offers flexible hours and a supportive team environment.
Our Client is a corporately owned practice offering a range of services, including lap spays, a separate dental theatre, imaging suite, and in-house lab. The team includes experienced vets with a variety of special interests, such as surgery, cardiology, and ophthalmology. The practice is well-equipped, with experienced veterinary surgeons and nurses providing comprehensive patient care.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a part-time position, with flexibility to work up to 3 days a week. The role includes 1 in 5 Saturday mornings. There are no out-of-hours or bank holiday requirements. The exact working days can be tailored to suit the candidate’s preferences, offering a great deal of flexibility.
Role Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional clinical care to patients during consultations and procedures. They will provide clear communication and updates to clients, ensuring accurate treatment and care plans are prepared for each patient, with clear cost estimates. The role also involves engaging with and mentoring team members, helping them develop their skills. The candidate will be expected to share clinical best practices within the team and across the wider community.
Team Size
The team consists of 5 veterinary surgeons, supported by a dedicated group of qualified nurses, SVNs, and reception staff. The clinic benefits from a collaborative and experienced team environment.

Located in the picturesque town of Cheltenham, this practice offers an excellent standard of care with facilities including lap spays, a separate dental theatre, imaging suite, and in-house lab. The team is comprised of experienced veterinary surgeons with special interests, and the practice is well-equipped to support a broad range of clinical cases.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an RCVS registered veterinary surgeon with experience in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients. The candidate should have strong clinical leadership skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team. Experience in supporting nurse consults and schedule 3 procedures is preferred. The candidate should be passionate about providing excellent patient care and developing the clinical culture within the practice.
