Intermediate Electrical Engineer – Building Services
Location: London
Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 (dependant on experience)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

A respected and design-led building services consultancy are looking to appoint an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to support its continued growth. Known for its thoughtful, low energy engineering solutions, the practice has built a strong reputation for delivering well-integrated, sustainable designs across a wide range of sectors.

Founded by a Director with a background in leading international firms, the company offers clients an experienced and creative alternative to larger, more traditional consultancies. Their portfolio includes high-profile and technically challenging projects across education, culture, commercial, residential and refurbishment sectors.

The team operates in a collaborative, open studio environment and maintains a strong emphasis on internal development, quality design, and long-term project performance.

About the Role
You will be working on a range of projects from inception to completion, contributing to the development of innovative electrical design solutions that are sustainable, coordinated and technically robust. The role offers exposure to varied project types and the opportunity to work closely with architects, clients and fellow consultants.

Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and delivering electrical building services solutions
- Producing high-quality technical information, reports and specifications
- Supporting sustainability-led design approaches
- Collaborating with internal team members and external stakeholders
- Contributing to quality assurance and mentoring junior staff where appropriate

About You
- You are a capable and motivated engineer with a keen interest in sustainable design and integrated engineering.
- You enjoy working in a collaborative environment and are confident in managing your workload and communicating clearly.

Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
- Experience working within a UK consultancy environment
- Proficient in relevant industry software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux or Amtech
- Solid understanding of UK building regulations and design standards
- Working towards or holding Chartered status is beneficial
- Strong interpersonal and teamworking skills
