Maintenance Engineer - Carlisle
Salary: up to £45,711 per annum DOE
Shift pattern: 3 shift rotation: Monday to Friday - 6-2pm, 2-10pm, and 10pm-6am
Overtime: paid at 1.5 times
This role involves working with an experienced team of technicians to diagnose and repair equipment to reduce plant downtime.
Our plant supports the move toward a circular economy by anticipating machine failures and implementing changes or recommendations to prevent recurrence. Supporting initiatives and proactively developing equipment, practices and systems is essential.
Safety: Safety is our number one priority, with maintenance performed in a safe and secure manner. All HSE standards are maintained and related documentation completed.
Responsibilities
* Carrying out plant upgrades and modifications to the required standards
* Reporting all work carried out through the computerised maintenance management system
* Developing and implementing a programme of planned preventative maintenance and inspection to minimise downtime, provide records of recurrent faulting and engineered solutions
* Being available for planned maintenance shutdown periods (reasonable notice will be given)
* Liaising with external contractors on specific repairs/maintenance, including some weekend working
* Implementing and ensuring compliance with all company policies, processes and procedures
Essential criteria
* Experienced Mechanical/Multi-Skilled Engineer working in a process or production environment
* An HNC/HND/C+G (or Industry equivalent) in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering is preferable but not essential; practical experience and some electrical knowledge are advantageous
* Knowledge and practical experience of large conveyors, chain drives, hydraulics, material compactors, shredders, overhead cranes and pneumatics is desirable
