Protocol Education are currently recruiting a Learning Support Assistant / Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision at a school in Loughton.
The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs and places a strong emphasis on the development of functional communication and emotional regulation, ensuring pupils are emotionally ready to learn. A key part of the provision is meeting students’ sensory integration needs, helping them to feel safe, regulated, and engaged throughout the school day.
Staff use a wide range of evidence-based strategies to support learning, behaviour, and wellbeing. The school also works collaboratively with external therapists, including speech and language therapists and occupational therapists, to provide a holistic approach to each pupil’s development.
Students may have Autism (ASD), SEMH needs, additional learning needs, or an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and many require consistent, patient, and nurturing support to help them succeed.
A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach is essential, along with the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils. Previous experience is welcomed but not essential, as full training and ongoing support will be provided.
This is a long-term, full-time position
Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 3:30pm

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
