Care Assistant (Dayshift) – Castle Lodge Residential Care Home

Join Our Team at Castle Lodge Residential Care Home. Castle Lodge is a welcoming residential care home conveniently located within walking distance of Antrim town centre. We provide high-quality, person-centred care for up to 41 residents across two units. About the Role

You will pride yourself on providing high-quality, person-centred care to our residents, fostering a welcoming environment where residents are treated with respect and dignity, and staff feel valued and supported. As part of our frontline team, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to‑day operations of the Home, assisting with activities of daily living ensuring the wellbeing and comfort of residents. As a Care Assistant, you will also provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering meaningful relationships and promoting a sense of compassion; an advocacy for the rights and preferences of our residents.


Main Responsibilities

* Assist residents with daily living activities, such as dressing, bathing, eating, and mobility.
* Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, helping them maintain a good quality of life.
* Help residents maintain independence where possible, encouraging involvement in activities.
* Assist with moving and handling residents using appropriate techniques and equipment.
* Support the nursing and healthcare team by monitoring residents’ well‑being and reporting any changes in their health or behaviour.
* Follow care plans tailored to individual residents’ needs, ensuring their comfort and safety.
* Ensure a clean, safe, and homely environment for residents.

Required Criteria

* Right to work in the UK.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* A good standard of oral and written English.
* A non‑judgemental approach to others.
* Excellent communication skills with the compassion required to deliver high-quality care to our residents.
* Respectful to not only residents but the values and beliefs of other team members.


Desired Criteria

* Educated to QCF/ NVQ Level 2 is desirable, but not essential.
* Previous experience in Health and Social Care preferred, although not essential as full training will be provided.
