We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and hardworking team in a vibrant primary school that works with pupils who require additional behavioural support. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children who need consistency, structure, and a nurturing presence to help them thrive in the classroom.
About the Role:
You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. Your role will involve both 1:1 and small group work, helping children to manage their emotions, access learning, and build positive relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support pupils with behavioural difficulties to access the curriculum
* Implement strategies and behaviour management plans under guidance
* Encourage and promote positive behaviour in line with school policies
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
* Contribute to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
Experience & Skills:
* Experience working with children with challenging behaviour is desirable
* A calm, empathetic, and consistent approach
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to remain resilient under pressure and adapt to dynamic situations
* A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) is an advantage but not essential
