We are seeking to appoint a skilled Mechanical Engineer to maintain, test, and improve mechanical systems and devices within our plant. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of mechanical systems, and a passion for innovation and improvement in engineering processes
Knowledge and Experience in:
1. Boiler / steam systems
2. Industrial building services (sprinkler systems, CHP, process cooling and heating)
3. Hydraulics systems
4. Pneumatic systems
5. Highbay racking
6. Conveyor systems
Your responsibilities
7. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems and machinery, including bearings, shafts, hydraulics, pneumatics, boiler and plant equipment
8. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in production machinery, including high-speed machines, conveyors, and other automated systems
9. Respond quickly to mechanical breakdowns to minimize downtime and ensure production targets are met
10. Support automation and control system enhancements to increase system reliability and production throughput
11. Ensure all mechanical systems comply with safety standards and industry regulations (e.g., NFPA, NEC)
12. Conduct regular inspections, risk assessments, and audits to ensure safe operation of mechanical equipment
13. Enforce safe working practices
14. Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to address technical challenges and improve the performance of manufacturing equipment
15. Maintain accurate records of all mechanical maintenance activities, including repairs, upgrades, and system performance
16. Generate and review reports on mechanical performance, system issues, and maintenance needs
Your profile
You will be educatedto HNC level and have a minimum of 3-5 years experience. Ideally with FLT and Cherry Picker Licence. Problem Solving and Analytical Skills:
17. Strong troubleshooting abilities in order to quickly resolve mechanical and control system issues, identify root causes and implement corrective actions
18. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
19. Strong self-starter capable of independent learning and desire to learn and develop
20. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with production teams and other engineering staff
21. Ability to document and explain technical information to non-technical personnel
22. Ability to ensure adherence to safety protocols and best practices in mechanical maintenance
