We are seeking an experienced and driven Head of HR to lead the HR function for our clients site based near Exeter. Reporting directly to the Managing Director with a matrix link to the Divisional HR Director, you will play a key role in aligning local people strategies with broader divisional and Group priorities. With a headcount of approximately 170 and one direct report, you will be both a strategic partner and a hands-on HR generalist, championing best practice across the entire employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
* Act as a trusted partner to the Managing Director and site leadership team to deliver the people strategy
* Provide high-quality advice and guidance to managers on all aspects of HR including organisational design, employee relations, performance, and workforce planning
* Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, retention, and satisfaction
* Lead organisational development initiatives including change management and reorganisation
* Manage complex employee relations cases with a pragmatic, legally compliant approach
* Design and deliver core HR processes in conjunction with the Group and Divisional HR Team
* Drive initiatives that support an inclusive, values-led culture
* Support leadership in identifying and developing talent pipelines and succession plans
* Ensure accurate maintenance of HR data and metrics, producing regular reports
* Collaborate on health and wellbeing initiatives with Occupational Health
* Play an active role in the HR leadership team, sharing insights and collaborating on divisional and Group-wide initiatives
Requirements
* Proven track record as a senior HR generalist, preferably within a manufacturing or services environment
* Strong working knowledge of UK employment law, HR policy, and operational HR delivery
* Demonstrable experience working in a matrix organisation with both local and centralised reporting structures
* Skilled in coaching, influencing and challenging senior stakeholders
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills
* Confident in analysing HR metrics and workforce data to drive people decisions
