An exciting new career opportunity has arisen to join our team of residential support staff with Calderdale Council. You will be working within Children and Young Peoples Services, caring for young people across our children’s homes.

We are looking to appoint Casual Residential Support Workers to support young people with their emotional, physical, social, educational, and leisure needs, as well as to serve as positive role models working as part of a team to support and care for our young people.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate at multiple levels and build positive relationships with young people, working closely with other team members, families, and professionals. There will be opportunities to work in various settings, including Residential Children’s Homes and Short Breaks for Disabilities.
Due to the nature of the work, it is a legislative requirement that there be a five-year gap between the oldest child on site and the youngest staff member. Applications will be considered from those aged 21 or over.
You will also need IT skills to maintain records, a flexible approach, and availability to cover shifts including evenings, weekends, and school and public holidays. No experience is required as training and support will be provided. Applicants should refer to the Person Specification and demonstrate they meet the criteria when completing the application form.
