Job overview

We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic individuals to work in this developing service, who have an interest in supporting registered staff to provide effective rehabilitation and discharge planning.

Waters Ward is a 28 bed stroke and general rehabilitation unit. As a Senior Healthcare Support Worker on Waters Ward, you will be part of a multi-professional team providing high standards of care to our patients. You will maintain and promote patient independence and dignity to ensure each patient receives a positive experience. Please see the attached document ‘Healthcare Support Worker Key Duties’ to see a full list of key duties.

As a Senior Healthcare Support Worker, you will be expected to work a combination of shifts including nights, weekends and Bank Holidays:

1. Early – 07:30-15:30
2. Late – 12:30 - 20:30
3. Long days - 07:30 - 20:30
4. Night – 20:15 - 07:45

Interviews for this position will be held in person ONLY at the hospital site. Remote interviews will not be available.

5. 1-year’s previous experience in a Health Care Support Worker role

Desirable criteria

6. Experience in a health or social care setting

Qualifications

7. Completion of the Skills for Health Care Certificate
8. Numeracy skills to Level 1 (GCSE Grade 2-3, D-F or equivalent)

Desirable criteria

9. Level 3 health care related qualification e.g., BTEC, NVQ, T-Level, Apprenticeship

10. I accurately communicate health-related information to patients and colleagues in an understandable way, adapting my communication style to meet the needs of the recipient
