Position Summary
Alba is seeking a qualified, student-centered educator to fill a Secondary Mathematics teaching positions beginning August 2026. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to instructional excellence, collaborative teamwork, and fostering high levels of learning for all students.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Provide engaging, standards-aligned mathematics instruction for students in grades 6–12 (assignment based on certification and district need)
2. Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to Michigan Academic Standards
3. Use formative and summative assessment data to inform instruction and support student growth
4. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners
5. Implement MTSS practices to support student achievement
6. Maintain a positive classroom culture that promotes student engagement and responsibility
7. Collaborate with colleagues in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
8. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
9. Participate in district professional development and continuous improvement efforts
10. Perform other duties as assigned by administration
Qualifications
11. Valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate secondary mathematics endorsement (EX preferred; other math endorsements considered based on assignment)
12. Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in mathematics instruction
13. Strong classroom management and organizational skills
14. Commitment to collaboration and continuous professional growth
Preferred Qualifications
15. Dual certification highly preferred (e.g., additional endorsement in science, special education, or another secondary content area)
16. Experience teaching middle and/or high school mathematics
17. Experience working within an MTSS or PBIS framework
18. Familiarity with curriculum alignment and standards-based grading
19. Experience with intervention strategies for struggling learners
Compensation
Base starting salary is $40,000 with an additional $5,000 signing bonus.
