Job Opportunity: Assistant Accountant
Location: Watford
Type: Full-time | Permanent
Elevation Recruitment Group is partnering with a growing business seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join their finance team in Watford. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone eager to develop their accounting career in a supportive environment, working closely with a knowledgeable Finance Manager and gaining hands-on experience in core month-end processes.
Responsibilities include:
* Assisting with month-end close, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
* Reconciling balance sheet accounts and investigating discrepancies
* Supporting the production of management accounts and financial reports
* Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes
* Liaising with internal departments to ensure accurate financial data
* Supporting ad hoc finance projects and audits as required
Ideal candidate profile:
* Experience in a similar finance role (e.g., Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant)
* AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA/CIMA (preferred but not essential)
* Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software
* A keen eye for detail and a problem-solving mindset
* Excellent communication and organizational skills
