Role Summary and Impact

As a Programmatic Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing campaigns, developing programmatic plans that exceed client expectations (brand or ROI driven). You will contribute to the execution of programmatic media activity, working closely with the Programmatic Account Director and global hub teams to deliver best‑in‑class programmatic strategy and insightful commentary through data analysis. Your focus will be on ensuring seamless implementation, effective optimization, and contributing to both client success and the development of junior team members within the WPP Open ecosystem.

Reporting Structure: Reports to Programmatic Account Director.


Key Responsibilities

* Campaign Management:
o Oversee the implementation, management, and daily optimisation of programmatic campaign activity to ensure client objectives and KPIs are met.
o Competently create media plans designed to achieve specified KPIs.
o Take ownership of elements of client testing plans, suggesting innovative ideas, and executing/evaluating tests with methodical accuracy.
o Understand relevant products and solutions developed within the group.
* Client and Partner Management:
o Contribute to and execute programmatic strategy for client portfolios, ensuring alignment with client objectives and KPIs.
o Provide direct client servicing through regular contact (weekly calls, briefings) and present performance in detail.
o Develop strong relationships with media owners and other service providers to select appropriate suppliers.
* Team Development & Support:
o Work with your line manager to effectively support and guide more junior team members, monitoring and prioritising workloads.
o Act as a mentor, leading by example to motivate and encourage less experienced team members in their training and development.
* Operational Excellence:
o Utilise tools to drive accountability in programmatic buying, operational efficiencies, and actionable business insights, including scoping agreed client outputs.
o Ensure financial accuracy, integrating the planning and buying process, and reconciliation of spends, including client terms and programmatic fees.
o Support on the day‑to‑day QA process, minimizing errors and ensuring consistent and accurate adherence to process with both local and Global Hub teams.


Skills & Experience

* Programmatic Expertise: Proven experience in programmatic activation and driving excellence, with confidence in core trading platforms (DV360, TTD, Amazon).
* Analytical & Strategic: Analytically minded with an aptitude for handling large data sets to identify trends and actionable insights. Ability to contribute to and execute comprehensive testing roadmaps in the Programmatic space (audience, media, creative).
* Communication: Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), particularly important for building client and supplier relationships and translating technical points to non‑technical audiences.
* Team Support: Ability to work with line manager and team leadership to train and develop junior team members, leading by example.
* Mindset: Passionate about programmatic, proactive in seeking opportunities to develop understanding of the programmatic landscape, latest tech platforms, vendors, and suppliers.
