We’re creating a new leadership role at the heart of how we support the NHS to improve, modernise and transform its corporate services. Our Strategy and Process Improvement Consulting team supports Corporate Services leaders across the NHS to deliver meaningful, end‑to‑end improvements, from targeted process changes in individual organisations to large‑scale, multi‑organisational strategic programmes. We help our clients achieve measurable impact, greater efficiency and better ways of working.
We are now looking for a Head of Strategy and Process Consulting to lead and grow this expanding function. In this role you will build capability, refine our methodologies, and oversee the delivery of high‑value improvement and transformation projects. It’s an opportunity to shape the consulting proposition, develop your own team, and influence how the NHS designs and delivers future corporate services.
This role is hybrid variable working; you will be required to travel up to 2–3 days a week on average to our offices and client sites across the UK. Your contractual location can be at any of our offices based in London, Manchester or Leeds; the remaining days can be worked from home or at your contractual office.
What you will be doing:
* Leading the design and refinement of operating models for NHS corporate services, ensuring they are scalable, efficient and aligned to organisational strategy.
* Overseeing end‑to‑end process improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to streamline, simplify and optimise ways of working across multiple NHS organisations.
* Driving digital transformation projects, introducing modern, technology‑enabled approaches that improve service quality, efficiency and user experience.
* Providing strategic leadership across a portfolio of transformation programmes, ensuring clear delivery standards, strong governance and measurable outcomes.
* Working closely with senior NHS stakeholders to shape improvement priorities, manage complex relationships and influence decision‑making at both strategic and operational levels.
* Building and developing consulting capability within the team, embedding leading practice methodologies and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
What you’ll bring:
* Extensive experience as a Management Consultant from a recognised firm, with a proven track record delivering strategy, process improvement and digital transformation projects within NHS organisations.
* Demonstrated ability to design, develop and lead Strategy and Process Improvement value propositions, methodologies and leading practice across complex NHS settings.
* Strong experience delivering large‑scale transformation, process redesign and operational improvement projects in multi‑organisational NHS environments.
* Solid commercial background, supporting go‑to‑market activity and contributing to consulting sales of £1m+ per annum.
* Proven capability in building, leading and developing high‑performing consulting teams, with excellent influencing skills and the ability to engage senior NHS stakeholders.
* Experience in relevant methodologies, such as Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, PRINCE2, MSP, AgilePM or equivalent.
If you’re interested in this role but not sure if your skills and experience are exactly what we’re looking for, please do apply; we’d love to hear from you!
