Overview
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner to join our client’s operation based in Immingham, Humber Estuary. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced logistics environment with a strong focus on container movements and port operations.
The Role
As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for the effective planning and coordination of container transport operations, ensuring cost efficiency, service excellence, and full compliance with industry regulations.
Key responsibilities
* Planning and routing container deliveries and collections
* Coordinating with drivers, customers, and port authorities
* Managing daily transport schedules and resolving operational issues
* Ensuring compliance with transport legislation and company procedures
* Monitoring KPIs and optimising vehicle utilisation
* Liaising closely with internal departments to maintain service levels
The Ideal Candidate
* Proven experience in a transport planning role
* Essential: Container transport experience
* Strong knowledge of port operations and container logistics
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
* Confident communicator with the ability to work under pressure
* Proficient in transport planning systems and Microsoft Office
