We are looking for a Paralegal Apprentice to join the busy Property team in our Cardiff Office. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a team and will provide administrative and legal support to fee earners, whilst providing an exemplary level of service to clients. Key responsibilities will include: Dealing with instructions from assigned fee earners Assist and work cooperatively with other team members to provide support to other/non-assigned fee earners as appropriate Prompt administration of files including: Opening files running conflict checks, obtaining AML documents, creating the e-file and all relevant sub-files Initial conduct of matters preparing template letters of engagement and terms of business Ongoing conduct of matters & updating reports accordingly Closing files organising deeds/documents and accounts/billing, archiving Organisation of documents including printing and bundling of documents and engrossments, scanning and organising e-files, timely sending counterparts to relevant parties and/or uploading to relevant client extranets Accounts/billing responsibilities including dealing with accounts on receipts for monies in and out in accordance with our regulatory requirements, preparing Work In Progress reports, allocating disbursements to matters, preparing draft bills for fee earners' approval, managing bill issuance process Collating, analysis and reporting of data as required by fee earners/clients Diary management to include conference and meeting arrangements Other ad hoc duties as required by fee earners Attend and participate in legal training sessions Participate with Business & Development/Marketing as appropriate The successful applicant will spend one day a week at college studying a Paralegal Level 3 Apprenticeship. Skills / Experience Required Good spread of GCSEs (4-9) including English and Maths Excellent organisational skills are essential Ability to work as part of a team and use own initiative Confidentiality and discretion are fundamental Good writing and IT skills Accuracy and attention to detail Flexible attitude and strong work ethic Capable of managing a varied and demanding workload Proactive and positive 'can do' attitude Previous administration experience would be advantageous Willingness to learn and improve
