About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Social Worker to join our Young People's Safeguarding Team in Peterborough.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and families by ensuring their safety and supporting positive outcomes.As part of this team, you will work with children and young people who are Children in Need (CIN), subject to Child Protection (CP) plans, or Children in Care (CIC). You will play a key role in safeguarding, planning, and delivering interventions that promote wellbeing and resilience.
Responsibilities
Safeguarding and Assessment: Undertake statutory social work tasks for CIN, CP, and CIC cases, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice.
Direct Work: Engage with children and families through meaningful direct work to understand their needs and provide tailored support.
Care Planning: Develop, implement, and review care plans that reflect the child's voice and meet statutory requirements.
Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with health, education, and other partners to achieve the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
Risk Management: Identify risks and take timely action to protect children from harm.Skills
Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England.
Proven experience in safeguarding and working with children and young people.
Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory guidance, and best practice.
Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organisational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage a varied caseload effectively.
