Assistant Chef - Community Kitchen
Worcester | £24-26K (pro rata) | 22-28 hrs per week
Do you love cooking and want to use your skills to make a positive impact? We're looking for an Assistant Chef to join a community-focused kitchen team in Worcester. Responsibilities
* Plan and prepare healthy, affordable meals for up to 50 people a day
* Work with seasonal produce and manage supplies to get the most from the budget
* Support with fun, social food events — from BBQs to themed nights
* Play a part in training and mentoring residents in kitchen skills and food hygiene
* Deliver simple cookery sessions that empower people to prepare nutritious meals on a budget
* Help lead and motivate a small kitchen team
Qualifications
* At least 2 years' experience working as a chef or cook
* Food Safety qualification (Level 2 or above)
* Organised, reliable, and confident running a busy kitchen
* Strong communication skills and a supportive, compassionate approach
* Experience training or mentoring others is a big plus
* Understanding of working with vulnerable groups or people facing challenges is desirable
