Job Title: Health and Safety Manager
Location: HQ based (Warwickshire) with regular travel to regional sites
Reports to: Compliance Manager
Overview This is a pivotal role leading the organisations health and safety agenda across multiple office locations and operational environments. The Health and Safety Manager will drive a proactive culture of wellbeing, compliance, and continuous improvement, ensuring all statutory obligations are met and best practices are embedded across the business.
Key Responsibilities Health & Safety Leadership Develop and deliver a comprehensive health and safety strategy aligned with organisational objectives.
Provide expert advice and guidance to senior leaders on compliance, risk mitigation, and legislative change.
Promote a culture of safety, wellbeing, and accountability through communication, engagement, and training initiatives.
Act as an advocate for health, safety, and wellbeing throughout the organisation.
Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with all relevant UK health and safety legislation (e.g. Health and Safety at Work Act, RIDDOR, DSE regulations).
Conduct or oversee risk assessments across all working environments, including office, remote, and event settings.
Lead investigations into incidents and near misses, implementing corrective actions and sharing lessons learned.
Maintain the organisations health and safety policies, procedures, and risk register.
Monitoring & Assurance Develop and track KPIs to monitor health, safety, and wellbeing performance.
Lead internal audits and inspections; act as primary contact for regulatory or external reviews.
Report regularly to senior management on compliance and risk status.
Training & Engagement Design and deliver engaging training and awareness programmes, including induction and refresher sessions.
Support and mentor health and safety champions across the organisation.
Collaborate with HR/People teams to deliver wellbeing and mental health initiatives.
Ensure accessible, inclusive resources for both office-based and mobile teams.
Procurement & Budget Management Manage procurement of health and safety services, training, and equipment.
Oversee associated budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with standards.
Review supplier performance and maintain strong relationships with key partners.
Operational Safety Oversee fire safety, first aid provision, DSE assessments, and ergonomic best practice.
Support safe systems of work including lone working, emergency planning, and site security.
Conduct audits and inspections across all sites and events as required.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving health and safety legislation and best practice.
Person Specification Essential NEBOSH National General Certificate (minimum).
Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and compliance frameworks.
Proven experience in a health and safety management role, ideally across multi-site operations.
Demonstrable experience in audits, investigations, and risk assessment.
Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Competent in Microsoft Office, databases, and digital reporting tools.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel and work flexibly, including occasional evenings or weekends.
