About The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join BT Business as an Account Manager focused on public sector customers. The role blends account development and new business acquisition, supporting organisations across areas like local government and healthcare. You’ll work with a defined set of accounts while also identifying and winning new opportunities, using a consultative sales approach to deliver tailored solutions. With structured training through the BT Way of Selling programme, this role is ideal for someone looking to build a long‑term career in sales and progress into more senior account management or field‑based roles.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Manage and grow a portfolio of public sector accounts, driving revenue through upsell and cross‑sell
* Identify and secure new business opportunities within the public sector landscape
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders across local government, education and NHS organisations
* Take a consultative approach to selling, understanding customer needs and aligning solutions
* Develop and deliver account plans and pipeline strategies
* Work collaboratively across BT to bring together the right expertise and solutions
* Maintain accurate pipeline management and forecasting
Essential Skills / Experience
* Experience in a sales, account management or business development role
* Exposure to public sector customers (e.g. councils, NHS, education or procurement frameworks)
* Capable communication, stakeholder management skills and able to build C‑Level relationships
* Ability to manage a sales pipeline and work towards revenue targets
* A proactive, self‑starting approach with a desire to learn and develop
Desirable Skills / Experience
* Experience within technology, telecoms, or IT solutions sales
* Understanding of public sector procurement processes or frameworks
* Experience of consultative or solution‑based selling
