The Role
The Faculty Operations and Support Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the effective day-to-day functioning of the faculty. The post holder supports key operational and support services, providing continuity and steady operational oversight for academic School leadership teams. The role supports strategic planning, oversees operational delivery, coordinates staff and resources, and contributes to major faculty-wide initiatives, projects, and events.
The post holder oversees the Faculty Executive Support Office, ensuring the provision of effective professional administrative support to the Extended Faculty Leadership Team (FLT) and wider stakeholders. The post holder will also oversee governance in the faculty including the effective planning, preparation and action management of key committees such as the FLT and other KSA-wide groups.
This is a key role in KSA, and the post holder will work closely with stakeholders to embed excellent customer service, high quality project management and a culture of continuous improvement.
The Person
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent, with experience of managing multiple and diverse projects from inception to completion. With excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the post holder will have experience of working with senior staff and of managing a team to deliver a high-quality service.
Alongside outstanding planning, organisation and time management skills, the post holder will have a high level of proficiency in IT including experience in data analysis, and explaining and disseminating information efficiently and effectively. In addition, they will have the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in KSA and the wider University.
The Faculty
Kingston School of Art (KSA), founded in 1899, is one of the UK’s oldest art and design institutions. It is recognised for its practice-based teaching, interdisciplinary approach and strong industry connections. The School offers undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees across art, design, architecture and the creative industries.
