CONSULTANT IN COMMUNITY GENERAL ADULT PSYCHIATRY, SPA / CORE PATHWAY, BARNSLEY

Lundwood Health Centre, Littleworth Lane, Barnsley S71 5RG

Permanent, full time, 10 Programmed Activities per week plus on-call

South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust are recruiting for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Community General Adult Psychiatry, SPA / CORE PATHWAY, Barnsley based at Lundwood Health Centre, Littleworth Lane, Barnsley S71 5RG. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our patients receive the care that they need and will be an integral role within the team.

Main duties of the job

The starting salary for this post is aligned with point 04 of the consultant pay scale (£119,490 – 145,478), in line with Trust policy for newly appointed consultants. Placement on the scale will be reviewed where applicable. NHS consultant experience can be evidenced.

Qualifications

* MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
* Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
* Additional clinical qualifications.

Experience

* Excellent knowledge in specialty.
* Excellent clinical skills using bio‑psycho‑social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
* Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty.
* Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others.
* Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA.
* Able to provide clinical leadership to a multi‑professional team and liaise with a wide variety of agencies.
* Wide range of specialist and sub‑specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service.
* Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
* Included on the GMC Specialist Register for General Psychiatry, or within six months of gaining CCT.
* Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within three months of appointment.
* In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
* Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within six to twelve months of appointment.


Transport

* Holds and will use valid UK driving licence OR provides evidence of proposed alternative.
