About the Role
Help keep residents safe and support our commitment to building safety. We’re looking for a qualified Fire Risk Assessor to deliver Type 1 fire risk assessments across our housing portfolio, produce high-quality reports, and work with colleagues to drive practical improvements.
What you’ll be doing
5. Carry out Type 1 fire risk assessments across housing properties
6. Produce high-quality written reports, including clear recommendations, priorities and associated costings to inform delivery of remedial works.
7. Identify and communicate actions required to reduce risk, providing advice on practical solutions to internal customers across Housing services.
8. Manage your workload independently, planning site visits and completing report write-ups in line with service timescales.
About You
9. NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Assessor qualification or equivalent.
10. Registered with a professional body (e.g. IFSM).
11. At least 2 years’ experience carrying out Type 1 fire risk assessments.
12. Experience in working (or with) local authorities, fire and rescue services, housing associations or NHS-type organisations.
13. Able to produce clear, accurate reports with recommendations and costings, and communicate effectively with internal customers.

Working arrangements
Work is citywide, with flexibility to plan your own schedule of visits. You can complete report write-ups from the office or home, and you’ll work closely with internal customers within Housing services.
