This is an exciting opportunity to work with young people aged 17.5 to 25 years old in a new and innovative pilot 'Transitions to Adulthood, Wellbeing Service'. Commissioned by the Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC), this service brings together East London NHS Foundation Trust, as a member of the London Pathways Partnership (LPP), with voluntary sector partners, to develop creative approaches to engaging young people on probation in Newham.

The Hub, co-located within Newham Probation, provides wrap-around support tailored to the distinct needs of young adults, including an understanding of maturity, in order to reduce reoffending, improve mental health and support young adults to make positive life choices.

This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist with an interest in mental health, personality disorder and/or complex care to become involved in the implementation of highly innovative services. The post holder will work alongside partner agencies and services working with young adults on Probation to support engagement with informal, formal and innovative interventions. The post holder will play an active role in service research, audit and evaluation. The post holder will be working with young adults on Probation using an outreach community psychology approach.

To support and enhance the psychological well-being of young adults Probation within the service, across all sectors of care; providing informal and formal support in the community, psychological assessment and psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified practitioner psychologist, working independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified psychologist and within the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. To assist in clinically related administration including referrals, conduct of audits, collection of data/statistics, and development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.
