Maintenance Supervisor (Metals Manufacturing / Foundry)

Full time: 48 hours per week 12 hr shifts

Salary: £18-19ph

Location: Kingsilver Refinery, Church Ln, Hixon, Stafford ST18 0PY

28 days flexible holiday

The Role

Are you experienced and motivated maintenance professional looking to take your career to the next level? We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Supervisor to oversee all maintenance activities and ensure our operations run smoothly and efficiently. As a crucial part of our team, you will supervise a group of skilled maintenance operatives, optimise equipment performance, and maintain a safe working environment.

Key Tasks / Accountabilities

* Team Leadership: Supervise, lead, and assist a team of maintenance operatives, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule. Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and excellence.
* Strategy Implementation: Execute the maintenance strategy developed by the Directors and Engineering Manager to ensure reliability and continuous improvement cycle of machinery and equipment.
* Coordination: Work closely with other departments and contractors to plan maintenance activities, minimize disruptions, and optimize production efficiency.
* Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels of maintenance supplies and critical spares, ensuring all parts and tools are available for planned jobs, including the usage and management of fuels, lubricants, and other fluids during operations.
* Compliance and Safety: Ensure team compliance with safety protocols, company policies, and maintenance-related regulations.Inspecting and monitoring work areas, tools, and equipment to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations.
* Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process and equipment improvements and implement agreed solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
* Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment service histories using our computerised maintenance management system.

· Maintenance Activities: Conduct planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance as needed.

Knowledge Skills and Experience

Essential

· Minimum 2 year's experience leading a team of individuals within an engineering environment.

· IT competence.

· Experience in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

· Positive approach towarlkds leadership and mentoring

Desirable

· Minimum NVQ/ONC, or equivalent, in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field.

· Experience in heavy industries such as foundry, recycling, or quarry and aggregates sectors highly advantageous but not essential.

· Counterbalance, IPAF, MEWP licenses.

· First aid or safety training IOSH Management
