Teacher of Business Education, Bathgate Academy, 35 hours per week, 47 weeks per year, fixed term until 13 April 2026

Bathgate Academy is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and dynamic Teacher of Business Education. The successful candidate will support the school’s vision and implement strategies to achieve it. This is a key post at an exciting and challenging time for education and the school.
Bathgate Academy is a comprehensive non-denominational school serving a cluster of five primary schools. The school roll is currently 1,180 and rising due to housing developments and growing community confidence in our education standards. Our staff, students, parents, carers and the community have worked hard to improve all aspects of the school. We value inclusion and support a diverse range of young people, including those facing significant learning barriers, with staff teams helping students realise their ambitions.

* Support the school’s vision and implement strategies to achieve it.
* Take forward the principles of Curriculum for Excellence to support our learners and the improvement agenda of the faculty, school and authority.
Qualifications and requirements
* A relevant teaching qualification and registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland is essential.
* This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
* Successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment; the cost will be met by the candidate. The fee for a Full PVG Scheme Membership is £59 or Existing Member is £18.
