What you’ll be doing:
* Conducting structural analyses using ANSYS Finite Element Analysis software and theoretical methods
* Conducting stability analyses using Paramarine naval architecture software
* Participating in inclining experiments of naval ships and completing post-experiment analysis
* Designing ship modifications and capability upgrades
* Undertaking technical analysis for drydocking of ships
* Providing expertise for the through-life maintenance and support of ships
* Consulting on naval base facilities requiring naval architecture knowledge
* Participating in activities such as concept upgrade design, detailed design, support to build, delivery, and in-service support for surface ship platforms and naval base facilities
Your skills and experiences:
* Qualified to degree level, MEng in Naval Architecture, Marine Technology, or Ship Science is essential
* Experience with structural analysis using ANSYS Workbench is desirable
* Familiarity with naval architectural software, preferably PARAMARINE, is desirable
* Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD or Inventor is desirable

As a Naval Architect, you will be a key member of the Design Services Naval Architecture team, providing naval architecture capabilities across various projects supporting the Royal Navy surface fleet worldwide.
This role offers the opportunity to work in a critical and challenging environment, with direct involvement with the surface fleet and real-world waterfront ship engineering experience.
