Overview
Band 7 Senior Sister / Charge Nurse in our dynamic Paediatric Critical Care team at Royal London Hospital, part of Barts Health. The 10‑bed unit cares for intensive and highly dependent children and young people, providing a varied experience across emergencies and elective admissions.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality clinical care to critically ill children and support their families.
* Share knowledge, experience and skills with other staff and contribute to team development.
* Lead by example as an expert specialist nurse, providing clinical, organisational and professional leadership.
* Maintain and set high standards of nursing care and clinical processes at the unit.
* Develop managerial and leadership skills, including change management and quality improvement initiatives.
* Promote holistic, partnership‑based care with a focus on safety and best practice.
Qualifications and Experience
* Band 7 nurse with proven experience in Paediatric Intensive Care.
* Completion of intensive care training (appropriate professional recognition).
* Strong communication, teaching and teamwork skills.
* Self‑motivated, proactive and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
* Commitment to professional practice and continuous improvement.
