SEN Teaching Assistant – Speke (L24)

Start Date: 13th April
Full-Time Roles

Long-Term Positions

Pay Rate: £14.30 per hour + (DOE)

Teaching Personnel have recently met the Head Teacher of a school in Speke (L24). From the meeting, this school expressed the potential need for 3x SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistants to support the school on a temp-perm basis. These roles will be supporting 1 of 3 children with Autism in the Year 1 classroom.

-----------------------------------

About the School:

This friendly and inclusive Speke primary school is known for its strong pastoral ethos, supportive staff team, and commitment to ensuring every child feels valued and able to thrive. Staff work collaboratively, and the school provides a warm, structured environment ideally suited for children with additional learning needs.

-----------------------------------

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

* Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils with autism.
* Assist with communication strategies and sensory regulation techniques.
* Help implement personalised plans created by SENCOs and external specialists.
* Support learning in and out of the classroom, adapting resources where needed.
* Foster independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.
* Work closely with teaching staff and contribute to a positive, safe learning environment.
-----------------------------------

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

* Has previous experience supporting children with autism or complex needs.
* Demonstrates patience, empathy, and strong behaviour‑support skills.
* Can build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
* Is proactive, resilient, and committed to making a long‑term impact.
* Ideally holds relevant training (e.g., Autism Awareness, Team Teach), though this is not essential.
-----------------------------------

Transport Links – Halewood & Liverpool

This role is easily accessible via public transport across Liverpool and surrounding areas:

* Direct train services run from Liverpool Central to Hunts Cross, which is the nearest station serving the Speke area. Trains operate every 30 minutes, with a journey time of around 18 minutes.
* Regular bus services operate directly into Speke, including routes 80, 81, 82, 211, and 800, providing frequent connections across South Liverpool and into the city centre.
* Speke benefits from strong rail connectivity through Merseyrail and Northern, both of which operate services that link Liverpool to Hunts Cross, offering convenient onward access to the Speke area.

These links make the school accessible from areas such as Aigburth, Garston, Allerton, Wavertree, Liverpool ONE, and wider parts of Merseyside.
