Based at our modern and well-equipped Fleet Maintenance Centre in Eastleigh, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service (HIWFRS), are looking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced metal worker/fabrication specialist.
This position requires the applicant to be an experienced welder in both MIG and TIG, be competent with fabrication techniques, be competent in operating a variety of metal working machinery such as guillotine and box press and have experience installing vehicle stowage. Other tasks will involve:
1. Routine vehicle servicing on a variety of vehicles
2. Vehicle repairs and maintenance
3. New vehicle preparation
4. Vehicle refurbishments
5. Vehicle upgrades
6. Routine equipment repairs, maintenance, and servicing
Maintenance and care are carried out across the 62 HIWFRS sites and you will be expected to complete tasks on fire stations and on occasions at the scene of operational incidents to ensure the readiness and availability of fleet and equipment assets. This position is based at Eastleigh, however on occasions you may be required to work at other HIWFRS locations within the county of Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight,therefore need to have the ability to travel, as necessary.
We are looking for individuals who are:
7. Skilled and motivated and will have completed a recognised apprenticeship, with accompanying NVQ, City and Guilds qualifications or have extensive equivalent experience in a metal working/fabrication discipline
8. Experience of equipment maintenance and repair
9. Have relevant experience in a similar role
10. The ability to work independently and as part of a team
11. Have a positive and customer focused approach to completing tasks and activities
12. Can deliver the utmost professional and integral service
