Are you passionate about working with cutting-edge technology and eager to contribute to national security? We are seeking an Enhanced DV Cleared Microsoft SQL Server DBA to join our team in London on an initial 10-month contract, with 4-5 days in the office each week.
The role involves providing comprehensive DBA support for Microsoft SQL Server, including design, administration, backup/recovery, Availability Groups, deployment, and troubleshooting for SQL versions SQL 2014 and above.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Installing and configuring Windows Clusters, SQL Servers, and Availability Groups
* Maintaining high availability and disaster recovery solutions
* Conducting root cause analysis, performance monitoring, and capacity planning
* Performance tuning and optimization
* Implementing monitoring and alerting systems
* Automation using SQL Server Agent and PowerShell
* Participating in operational tasks like patching, upgrades, and migrations
* Documenting database configurations and procedures
* Collaborating with developers on database solutions
* Working independently and within a team, actively participating in SCRUM ceremonies
* Managing multiple tasks proactively in a dynamic environment
To succeed, candidates should have:
* Strong knowledge of SQL Server High Availability technologies
* Experience with enterprise-scale SQL Server implementations
* Skills in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and capacity planning
* Experience with SQL Server migration and backup/recovery
* Proficiency in PowerShell scripting
* Excellent communication skills in English
