Overview
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulatory Officer - Field Based - 31634. The role is based in the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) team within Batteries, WEEE and Shipments, part of Environmental Markets and Regulation. We’re a national team with officers based across England. National travel and overnight stays will be required.
The Regulatory Officer will regulate a range of businesses operating within the Producer Responsibility regime. You will ensure that producers, reprocessors and exporters of waste comply with their responsibilities. The role involves working as part of a dispersed team while being self-motivated and disciplined.
Responsibilities
* Undertake audits (on site and virtual)
* Take appropriate enforcement action when necessary
* Disrupt non-compliance
* Collate and analyse complex data to support evidence-based regulatory decisions
* Handle confidential and sensitive information within data protection guidelines
* Contribute to the development and improvement of processes and procedures
Experience / Skills Required
We welcome applicants with various experiences. Waste industry or regulatory experience is not required as you will receive full training. You should be able to work effectively outdoors and in an office environment and demonstrate the following capabilities and behaviors:

* Passionate about the environment and willing to learn about environmental regulation and enforcement
