Job Overview
The Lung Health Check Programme Administrator will support the implementation of the Lung Health Check (LHC) programme for patients in Berkshire, following the National Programme and Protocol. The role provides specialist administrative support to the Respiratory Medicine team and collaborates with the LHC programme manager, nursing staff, and external partners to promote early detection of lung cancer.
Responsibilities
* Assist the programme/project manager in establishing and executing the LHC programme.
* Work within the CAT 11 team supporting Cardiology, Respiratory and Stroke Medicine.
* Communicate with patients and colleagues at all levels, handling queries and providing information efficiently.
* Process general administrative duties and manage data (electronic and paper based).
* Ensure high-quality, efficient service delivery in a fast‑paced environment.
* Collate and maintain accurate records, supporting reporting and monitoring requirements.
Qualifications
* Educated to A‑Level or NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration/Customer Care or equivalent experience.
* Recognised qualifications in literacy and numeracy (minimum GCSE English and Maths).
Essential Criteria
* Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
* Experience working in a multi‑disciplinary team.
* Customer care experience.
* Handling patient/customer queries.
* Scheduling outpatient appointments and/or admissions.
* Providing patients with information about appointments or treatment teams.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience using digital dictation systems.
* Experience using patient data systems.
* Experience working in a healthcare setting.
* Handling patient complaints.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
* Strong IT skills, confident working with multiple computer systems.
* Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
* Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
* Communicative with patients and colleagues at all levels.
