What you’ll do Ashfords is seeking an experienced IT Systems Engineer to join our IT team in Exeter on a full-time, permanent basis. As a key member of Ashfords’ IT team, you’ll ensure our systems run smoothly and are fully available for colleagues. You’ll provide advanced second-line IT support, investigating and resolving complex technical issues, and acting as a point of escalation for the team. Your role will involve monitoring systems, supporting Microsoft 365 and cloud services, maintaining servers, networks, and telephony, and assisting with database and application administration. You’ll also work closely with third-party suppliers, support the firm’s backup and disaster recovery processes, and carry out routine maintenance, system checks, and site visits as needed. Clear communication, thorough documentation, and collaboration with colleagues across the business will be key to keeping our IT services running efficiently and reliably. Who you are You’re a technically strong, proactive IT professional who thrives on solving complex problems and taking ownership of technical challenges. Ideally, you have hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Active Directory, Intune, SCCM, VPNs, telephony systems, and backup processes, and you’re confident supporting a wide range of IT and facilities systems. You’re trustworthy, reliable, and able to respond to the evolving needs of the business while managing multiple priorities and maintaining high standards of service. You enjoy investigating issues, spotting patterns, and finding practical solutions that keep systems running smoothly.
