A leading multinational within industry is looking to appoint a Legal Counsel. This exciting role reports into the Associate General Counsel and will be part of the Group Legal Function. This role will be part of the UK & Ireland Senior Leadership Team. Based in Milton Keynes, the Legal Counsel will provide support across the Group, with responsibility for the UK and Ireland business. You will act as a legal business partner on all key legal issues and strategic projects, collaborating closely with the wider Group Legal team to support on strategic cross-jurisdictional initiatives.
About the role
You will be responsible for:
* Providing commercially focused legal advice across a wide range of commercial and corporate agreements.
* Driving critical business decisions with key stakeholder input.
* Obtaining external legal counsel advice on critical legal issues including disputes and managing litigation, and reviewing the same.
* Executing transactional and operational legal aspects of each project and their lifecycles.
* Partnering with Project Teams throughout the wider business transformation program to ensure alignment between legal and business requirements.
Who You Are
* A legal professional with at least 5+ years’ experience, preferably gained in a leading international law firm or in-house in the industrial sector or with industrial sector clients.
* Corporate, commercial and/or M&A exposure and experience demonstrating a wider understanding of the key commercial transactional matters.
* Business-focused with a balanced approach to risk analysis in the context of the business.
* Strong organisational and management skills with a proven ability to manage and influence both external and internal stakeholders.
* Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical and influencing skills.
* Strategic thinking with a proactive “get things done” attitude.
