The Role:
As the Classroom Assistant, your duties will involve working on an individual basis with a pupil who has statements of special educational needs and will include
1. Assisting the pupil as directed by the teacher
2. Preparation for class and help in setting up of various items of apparatus as required for different subjects
3. Establish a supportive relationship with the pupil concerned
4. Supervise groups of pupils, or individual pupils on specified activities including talking and listening, using ICT, extra-curricular activities, and other duties, as directed by the school
5. Supporting the pupil in ensuring that all class work and homework is complete
6. Working with the pupil to support Literacy, Numeracy and the development of social skills
7. Care of pupil in teacher's absence, morning break, lunchtime
8. Accompanying class to all extra-curricular activities, where appropriate
9. Ensure as far as possible a safe environment for pupils
10. Report to the class teacher any signs or symptoms displayed which may suggest that a pupil requires expert or immediate attention
11. Assist the class teacher and/or other professionals with the implementation of the system for recording pupil progress
12. Duplicate written materials and assist with production of charts and displays etc.

Requirements:
14. Relevant qualification
15. Previous experience in a similar setting
16. Good communication skills and good understanding of English
17. Demonstrable ability to work on own initiative

18. Rate of Pay: £15 per hr
