Job Description:
One of the UK’s largest packaging suppliers has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Procurement Manager to support its National Accounts (retail division). This role involves providing innovative packaging solutions and supporting professional development, including CIPS accredited training.
The Packaging Procurement Manager Role
Reporting to the Sales Director and supporting the Business Development Director, you will source materials and products for major retail brands, ensuring cost-effective procurement while aligning with company strategy. This full-time role involves managing multiple projects and stakeholders, working 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
Key Duties
* Manage and develop supplier relationships to ensure quality and cost efficiency
* Understand client briefs and design processes to source appropriate materials/products
* Collaborate on new business proposals
* Conduct cost-effective purchasing transactions
* Communicate procurement strategies across the retail division
* Manage 'On Time In Full' metrics
* Liaise with central procurement teams
* Manage tender processes
* Report and analyze project data
Candidate Profile
We seek experienced procurement professionals with at least two years' experience in corrugated or polythene packaging or design-led packaging solutions. Experience with national sales or retail customers is advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate leadership, commercial acumen, excellent communication, negotiation skills, and the ability to work under pressure. A desire for professional growth and willingness to undertake CIPS training are also valued.
