We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Drainage Maintenance Engineer to cover planned maintenance activities, including jetting drains, interceptor servicing, pump station inspection, patch lining using crawler units, coding, dealing with dilapidation, cleaning gullies and ACOs, as well as maintaining and repairing urinals and toilets. The ideal candidate will also have experience dealing with blockages in both internal and external drainage systems in a reactive capacity.
This is a mobile position; therefore, the successful candidate will work across various client sites in different industries, involving travel and some overnight stays. The role suits candidates with several years of experience in drainage, environmental compliance, or maintenance sectors. Candidates must be able to work independently or as part of a team, enjoy outdoor work in all weather conditions, and be physically fit, as the job involves heavy lifting and working in confined spaces.
Requirements:
* Experience in plumbing is advantageous.
* Proficiency with digital equipment required.
* Experience working with local Water Authorities is desirable.
* Salary is based on experience and technical ability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Identify new business opportunities.
2. Build and maintain relationships with clients.
3. Conduct site visits and surveys for planned and reactive works.
4. Maintain and develop relationships with current clients.
5. Pitch services and solutions to clients.
6. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure effective project delivery.
7. Understand Phosters' services.
8. Adhere to all health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
9. Perform underground utility surveys, including drainage and other utilities, and create topographical base plans.
10. Interpret existing drawings and building specifications for pipe and drainage layouts.
11. Utilize equipment such as CCTV cameras and CAT scanning tools for research.
12. Complete field surveys accurately and produce technical reports.
13. Make recommendations for further work based on survey findings, liaising with engineers, contract managers, and business development teams.
14. Report professionally to client project managers.
15. Assist in coaching and training new colleagues.
16. Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by management and operational teams.
17. This role requires travel and occasional overnight stays.
