The Monitoring Data & Systems Team (MDS) manages key Environmental Monitoring systems and datasets. As a Technical Advisor you will support users and improve the systems and data that underpin our work.
This role is primarily focused on Water Quality systems and data, but you will also support other systems as required. Key responsibilities include:
* Set up and manage user accounts
* Support users and resolve issues, especially during the transition to the new My Environment application
* Update, improve and maintain datasets
* Respond to internal and external data requests
* Participate in system improvement and upgrade projects
All team members undertake training and participate in incident response duties when required. Incident roles are essential for protecting communities and the environment.

Experience and Skills
* Experience working with large complex datasets
* Willingness to develop new technical skills and apply them across monitoring data and systems
* Motivated, organised, friendly, and helpful, with strong detail-orientation, comfortable in a dispersed team environment
* Proactive problem solver
* Excellent written and verbal communication, able to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
* Ability to build and maintain relationships, deliver through others, and provide excellent customer service
* Desirable: experience managing environmental monitoring data systems
* Desirable: experience with PowerBI, Access, Excel, Python, SharePoint Online, and R
* Desirable: working knowledge of water quality monitoring

Additional Information
Work location is flexible, but a base at an England office is required. Hybrid home/office working is offered, with some travel for meetings. Interviews will be conducted via MS Teams toward the end of December / beginning of January.
