Our client, an organisation within the manufacturing sector, is seeking a Payroll Clerk to join their finance function. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for a busy, fast-paced workforce.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong payroll experience who enjoys working with detail, deadlines, and cross-functional teams.
What you’ll do
Process end-to-end payroll on a weekly and/or monthly basis
Maintain accurate employee records, timesheets, and payroll data
Manage HMRC submissions, RTI reporting, and statutory payments
Administer pension contributions and auto-enrolment processes
Handle payroll queries from employees and resolve discrepancies efficiently
You’ll work closely with HR and Finance teams to ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and smooth operational delivery.
What we’re looking for
Previous experience in a payroll or payroll support role
Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
Experience with payroll systems (e.g. Sage, SAP, or similar)
High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy
Ability to manage deadlines in a busy environment
The ideal candidate will bring a methodical approach, strong communication skills, and a proactive mindset, and enjoy working in a structured yet collaborative environment.
