One of my local government clients is seeking a highly organised and proactive Business Support Assistant to join their friendly and supportive Business Support Team. This team provides essential administrative support to Children’s Social Work services, ensuring smooth, efficient operations and high-quality service delivery. This is a varied role where no two days are the same. Candidates must have excellent administrative experience, strong IT skills, and great attention to detail. Due to the rural location, the successful candidate must have access to a car and live within a 30-minute drive of the office. Key Responsibilities * Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including letters, emails, mail merges, and calls. * Maintain accurate file management of both paper and electronic records. * Support Data Protection processes by gathering information for Subject Access Requests and Police information requests. * Provide administrative support including photocopying, scanning, printing, room bookings, and travel/hotel arrangements. * Validate data, run reports, and update databases during system changes. * Book meetings, manage diaries, send invites, and take minutes. * Monitor stock levels and maintain office supplies. * Conduct digital file audits to ensure correct documentation prior to case transfers. * Set up new starter laptops and assist with basic IT-related onboarding tasks. * Record equipment, maintain logs, and update resources where required. * Carry out ad hoc administrative and IT tasks based on service need. Requirements * Recent and solid administrative experience. * Strong IT capability and confidence using various systems. * Excellent organisational skills and high attention to detail. * Able to work onsite initially and later on a hybrid basis. * Must have access to a car and live within 30 minutes of Usk (NP15 1GA). * Must be available with a maximum of 2 weeks’ notice.
