Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and support to individuals in various settings, including home care, nursing homes, and hospice care. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personal care, companionship, and assistance with daily activities.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality patient care, ensuring comfort and dignity for all clients.
* Assist with medication administration as per prescribed guidelines.
* Provide dementia care, supporting clients with cognitive impairments in their daily routines.
* Perform first aid when necessary and respond to emergencies effectively.
* Support clients with heavy lifting tasks as needed, ensuring safety and proper techniques are used.
* Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate personnel.
* Foster a supportive and positive environment for clients, promoting their independence and well-being.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in home care, nursing homes, or hospice care is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of dementia care practices is an advantage.
* Certification in first aid is preferred.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and effectively.
* Excellent communication skills and a caring attitude towards clients.
* A valid driving licence is beneficial for transporting clients as needed.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
