Behaviour Support Practitioner - Primary School Newton Aycliffe, County Durham Start Date: May 2026 Are you passionate about supporting children to thrive both emotionally and academically? We are seeking a committed and resilient Behaviour Support Practitioner to join a caring and inclusive primary school in Newton Aycliffe. About the Role: You will work closely with pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support, helping them to engage positively with learning and school life. This is a rewarding role where you will make a real difference by promoting positive behaviour, building strong relationships, and supporting pupils to reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities: - Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural needs - Implement behaviour support plans and strategies consistently - Work alongside class teachers and the SENCO to support pupil progress - Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation - Build trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families - Support the development of a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment We are looking for someone who: - Has experience working with children with behavioural needs (school-based experience desirable) - Is calm, patient, and resilient under pressure - Has strong communication and interpersonal skills - Can de-escalate challenging situations effectively - Is passionate about inclusion and supporting every child to succeed - Works well as part of a team and shows initiative We can offer: - A supportive and experienced staff team - Opportunities for training and professional development - A welcoming school community with a strong ethos of care and inclusion - The chance to make a meaningful impact every day If this role sounds perfect for you please apply today!
