About The Role
Disrupt Talent is recruiting for a dynamic exhibition design and build company seeking an
Estimator
to play a pivotal role in project planning and execution. This is a complex and commercially critical role that requires more than analytical ability — the successful candidate will combine technical precision with commercial acumen and client-friendly communication.
With prior hiring challenges highlighting the unique blend of skills required, this opportunity demands lateral thinking and a background that goes beyond numbers, ideally from production, project management, architecture, or drafting.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare accurate estimates for exhibition builds and re-installations.
* Collaborate with sales during costing handovers, ensuring clarity on project details.
* Use internal software to create detailed costing sheets for project management and accounts teams.
* Manage workload efficiently to align with client deadlines and project complexity.
* Monitor the pipeline of upcoming projects, attending bi-weekly estimating meetings with sales and operations.
* Analyse designs for cost-effectiveness, practicality, and alignment with budgets.
* Support the team with advice on estimating and production-related challenges.
* Present costings and proposals in a professional, client-friendly manner.
Required Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in estimating bespoke projects (events/exhibitions preferred).
* Strong numerical and analytical ability with excellent attention to detail.
* Commercial mindset with the ability to present costings persuasively to clients and support sales.
* Proficiency in estimating software (Smartsheet's or similar) and Microsoft Office (Excel essential).
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
* Background in architecture, drafting, project management, or production highly desirable.
* Experience working in small businesses or dynamic teams is an advantage.
