We are not in a position to support any NMC conditions of practice requirements.
Return to Practice Student (Adult and Child Nursing). Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust is offering a limited number of clinical placement opportunities for applicants to the Bournemouth University Return to Practice programme or Test of Competence, commencing in January 2026.
Main duties of the job
Successful applicants will be offered a fixed-term 12-month contract to cover the clinical placement requirements of the Return to Practice course. You will be required to complete a minimum of 150 hours of supervised placement activity. 15 hours/week will be paid as supernumerary. You need to work an additional 15-22.5 hours/week as part of your contract, which will not count towards your NMC hours but will be paid as Band 3. Total working hours expected will be 30-37.5 hours/week. Your clinical placements will also reflect the requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Council. To apply for a clinical placement, you must have previously been registered to work as a general/adult/child nurse in the UK.
Please be aware that as this is a joint application process, your application form will be shared with Bournemouth University.
There is an option to complete the NMC Test of Competence for those who have been out of practice for 5 years or less. This will be discussed at interview.
