Your New Team:

Step into a desk that has historically billed over £500k, specialising in placing Senior Finance Professionals across the public sector. Typical roles include Finance Directors, Financial Controllers, Heads of Finance, and Senior Finance Business Partners within:

• Government bodies – including central government departments, local authorities

• Higher education – universities and research institutions

• Housing associations – large social housing providers and not-for-profit organisations


With strong frameworks already in place, you’ll have a great platform to establish, build and nurture relationships while driving further growth. If you’re ambitious and ready to make an impact, this desk offers exceptional earning potential and long-term success.

You will specialise in the recruitment of interim Senior Finance professionals into Charity & NfP, NHS, Local Government and Housing organisations. This is an exciting opportunity to interact and deliver recruitment services to existing clients, and through your own commercial awareness and drive, deliver targeted and strategic business development. Your New Role:

As a specialist Finance recruiter into the Public Sector, you will become a subject matter expert in Senior Finance and the various components that make up the discipline. Experience with Senior Finance recruitment isn’t essential as you will receive a wealth of training in these areas and benefit from the support of a highly experienced team, as well as specialist technical support from our Business Director who will share their 20+ years’ market experience across the specialism. You will benefit from existing, strong client relationships, but the expectation is that you will also be very pro-active and strategic in your business development activity. Business Development is key to being successful in this position and a large proportion of your time will be spent reaching out to sell our recruitment services to new clients, both in meetings and virtually. Your candidates are also of utmost importance. In a skill short market, you must demonstrate innovative ways of attracting the best Senior Finance talent and provide an outstanding service in introducing them to suitable employers, managing the candidate experience from initial contact through to appointment and post-start support. In summary your role will be an equal split of candidate engagement and client engagement activity. Your objectives will be based around three key strategic themes; Be visible and build relationships in Senior Finance, convert candidate relationships into client relationships, and have a reputation for being a true Senior Finance recruiting expert in your market.


What you’ll need to succeed:

Above all, you should have a strong work ethic where you are motivated and enthusiastic about carving out a career in recruitment. Prior recruitment experience is necessary (manager experience is helpful, but not essential), but you will be prepared to work hard, strive to achieve targets, and have an interest and ability to thrive in a corporate environment. You will be naturally inquisitive to help you build your market knowledge and build strong business relationships. You will be ambitious, driven to progress your career quickly and have strong sales skills with the ability to consult and advise both clients and candidates. To do all of this you will need excellent interpersonal skills with the passion to want to achieve results. You’ll be ambitious with passion, credibility, and drive. Your unbeatable interpersonal skills will enable you to build strong relationships with your candidates and clients, which will be vital to your own success and the success of the business.
